Southern Ontario Ice Storm
Severe weather in Southern Ontario created havoc over the weekend. Here are some excerpts from local media:
- Toronto – 40,000 people were without power and one busy airport had to shut down on Sunday
- St. Thomas – areas near Lake Erie were hit with the most precipitation, the region around St. Thomas, had the most power outages
- Niagara Region – more than 15,000 customers were without power in St. Catharines Saturday morning
- London – Nearly 15,000 north of London, from Grand Bend to St. Marys without power. In London, hydro crews worked Sunday afternoon to restore power in south London.
